This wine comes from south-facing vineyards in the hilly district of Nizza Monferrato. For this reason the word “NIZZA” can be put on the label. Our job is ensure care is taken at every step: to follow the grapes in the cellar, check the fermentation (maceration on the skins for at least 10 to 12 days), the evolution of malolactic fermentation that converts the sharper-tasting malic acid into the softer lactic acid. It is aged in barriques, small oak barrels where the wine is left to rest for about a year The product’s apex is reached after it has remained in the bottle (for about six months) so as to enable the wine to evolve and attain balance and harmony. This explains the denomination "Superiore Nizza", which we are proud to print on the label. ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS Species of vine: Barbera Area of production: The bailiwick of the commune of Nizza Monferrato. Colour: bright, deep ruby red. Bouquet: ethereal, complex, characterized by hints of woodland berries, chocolate, coffee. Taste: full-bodied, velvety, with vanilla that prevails over the toasted sensation. At table: a generous wine for the whole meal, recommended with roasts, grilled or braised dishes, stews and seasoned, soft and piquant cheeses. Best served at a temperature of: 18°-22°C.
