The first documents concerning the Forno family, originally from Santo Stefano Belbo, date back to the mid-1600s, and the Cascina Forno nicknamed Tenuta Il Falchetto can still be found on old maps. A family of farmers dedicated to vines and wine for four generations, Pietro Forno began producing the first bottles as early as 1940. At the end of the 1970s, Pietro passed the reins of the company to his sons Natalino and Luigi, who renovated the cellar premises and introduced state-of-the-art equipment for grape processing and fermentation, thus improving and refining techniques, always with the utmost respect for tradition and the territory. Today the company is proudly led by brothers Giorgio, Fabrizio and Adriano and consists of three estates in Monferrato and three in Langa. Great attention is paid to the cultivation of the vineyards at every stage, starting with the winter pruning and ending with the summer thinning of the bunches, a manual technique aimed at controlling the quality and quantity of grapes produced for each individual plant. The remaining bunches thus reach uniform ripeness and are much richer in aroma and colour. Harvesting is carried out manually in all the vineyards. The philosophy of Tenuta Il Falchetto is to produce only high quality wines and to ensure that customers find the maximum expression of each individual vineyard in every bottle.
