Our farm was born from the union of two excellencies from two different Piedmont territories: the Langhe and the Monferrato.

Dacapo, founded in 1997 in Agliano Terme, which presents a wide range of wines such as Barbera d’Asti, Nizza, Grignolino d’Asti, Ruchè, Pinot Nero and Monferrato Nebbiolo, and Cà Ed Balos, founded in Castiglione TInella, in 2004, which has since then been dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards to produce wines of fine quality such as Moscato d’Asti, Passito di Moscato and Dolcetto d’Alba. Our vineyards are spread over an area of 8 ha, in the following communes: Castiglione Tinella, Mango, Agliano Terme and Castagnole Monferrato. Respect for the environment and quality has always been at the heart of our philosophy.

We manage our vineyards through pruning systems that allow plants to live longer. We manage the vines with pruning always on the young wood to bring them to a happy age, maintaining the correct lymphatic fluxes. We use the branch trimming method of Simonit & Sirch grape breeders. The longevity of the vine is the result of precise choices made by the winegrower, and we are convinced that it is important to safeguard the vitality of old vines, both for the quality of the wines and for the scenic charm they create. Moreover, maintaining the original genes will also allow us to obtain a plant that is more resistant to disease and to preserve our territory, which is considered a Unesco World Heritage Site. Everything is strictly manual from pruning to harvesting. Organic certification was achieved in the vineyard in 2019 and in the winery in 2020.

Nizza is our wine of choice.Agliano Terme is historically the heart of Barbera production and our Nizza “Vigna Dacapo”, comes from an old vineyard planted in 1960, with southwest exposure, 220m above sea level, with low yields per hectare, identified on the Masnaghetti map as Cru Valle Rotonda. The ground is composed of sandy marls and clay. This terroir is best expressed in our Nizza, which gives it a great structure, complexity and long life.
